WILD SWIMMING EXPERIENCES

Dan New Headshot

Bealltainn - Baal's Fire

Là Buidhe Bealltainn (Yellow Day of Beltane) is the ancient Celtic celebration that falls around May Day and is midway between the Spring equinox and the Summer Solstice. This ancient pre-cursor to the modern day holiday is a time for realigning with nature, bonfires and fertility rituals for the coming summer.

We are again offering the opportunity for you to connect with nature in the purest sense whilst exploring open water skills and comprehensive approaches to cold conditioning, acclimatisation and swimming in open water. The emphasis of this experience will be on preparation and recovery.

Saturday 27th & 28th April 2024

Whispering Cow Walks, Highland Fold Ice Cream

Calf 003

At The Pierhouse we are delighted with the relationships that we have with our local suppliers and incredibly proud to be able to showcase their amazing produce. Jane Isaacson from the Highland Fold in Barcaldine supplies us with ice-cream made from the milk of her Highland Cattle. Throughout the summer months Jane is offering guided Whispering Cow Walks around the farm.

This is a wonderful opportunity to boost your happy hormones by visiting her fold of Highland Cattle in their natural environment. These walks allow you to see the cows relaxing on their own turf, and to learn about the breed, their ice-cream, and of course their wonderful Highland home. Walks will run to the end of November; booking is essential.

Please contact [email protected] for more information or call 01631 720 378.
