A truly Scottish wedding
Organising an exclusive party allows you to enjoy the full remit of The Pierhouse Hotel exclusively for your wedding and your guests. We can also arrange a full variety of activities including adventure activities in the nearby local area.
We really enjoy hosting weddings at The Pierhouse and judging by the comments from our very happy departing wedding parties we obviously have a winning formula.
We have a full wedding licence enabling you to enjoy your wedding in the tranquillity and breathtaking scenery of The Pierhouse on the shores of Loch Linnhe. We will take care of organising a minister or registrar for the ceremony and arrange special events for you, your family and friends, from the vibrant atmosphere of a Highland ceilidh to the grand finale of a glorious fireworks display by the loch.
The Ceremony
The ceremony itself can take place either in the Restaurant or Lounge and we are able to provide witnesses if required. A Scottish piper can be arranged for you to celebrate in style and the evening can be rounded off with Ceilidh dancing accompanied by a two piece band.
A Marriage Ceremony conducted in the Hotel may take the form of a Religious Ceremony, which must be conducted by an Approved Celebrant (e.g. this may be a Church of Scotland Minister) whom you should also make contact with as soon as possible and whose details the District Registrar will require before the marriage takes place; or a civil ceremony – a non-religious ceremony conducted by a registrar.
By law both parties to a proposed civil or religious marriage are required to submit Marriage Notice Forms to the Registrar of the District in which the marriage is to take place. The District Registrar for Port Appin is in Oban and is:-

Hospitality–The Best of Scottish local produce for your Wedding Banquet
Food is not the most important thing at a wedding - but just sometimes it is the most memorable. Our chefs are ready to cook the best wedding food your guests have ever experienced. Take a look at some of our sample wedding menus. And with our extensive range of local
malt whiskies to choose from, your party will say they have had a true taste of Scotland.
Menu and Wines
Our Head Chef, Derek McLean has designed 2 separate menus at £30.00 and £45.00 per person depending on your budget for you to consider. These options are flexible so you can pick and choose the starter, main courses and desserts to create your own ideal menu.
Derek is very happy to have a chat with you to ensure you are entirely comfortable with the selected dishes so please do contact us to discuss your menu requirements.
We do require you to choose the same 3 course menu for the whole party although we can create a special menu for those guests with any individual dietary requirements. Please note that some dishes are subject to seasonality and availability.
You may also wish to consider an informal buffet style dinner on the first night.
Fresh ingredients
Only the finest local produce, traceable to reputable and highly regarded professional suppliers is used at The Pierhouse. None of our dishes involve the use of genetically modified foods and wherever possible free-range and organic ingredients are used. Local herbs and vegetables complement locally sourced ingredients that our team of award winning chefs craft into culinary excellence
Sample Wedding Menus
Please select a Starter, Main Course and Dessert from the following options. Our chef is always happy to create more options if you have something specific in mind. Please also bear in mind that seasonality will always effect availability of ingredients. We will advise on this once you have made your initial selection.
Specially selected vegetarian menus can also be produced so those in your party do not get left out of a wonderful meal. Along with the well chosen menus we can recommend wines from our extensive list for your enjoyment.
