A real storm

Port Appin in a real storm! Having had 2 similar storms in the space of a week, it's made for some excellent entertainment from the comfort of the The Pierhouse Ferry Bar! Take a look at the video.

The video is of a storm here some time back - no apologies for the shaky footage with the air full of sea spray, it was pretty wild! But don't let a storm forecast put you off visiting The Pierhouse because once you're here, there's always a warm welcome from Caroline, Lorraine and the team, roaring wood burning fires and a ringside seat for a spot of storm watching. With Brodie's teas and coffees served all day, home baking (we recommend the fruit scones or shortbread) and warming Cullen Skink for lunch what are you waiting for? (Plus of course our massive selection of malts and craft gins!)

Meanwhile outside, when it's stormy, Port Appin life adapts to the conditions - the Lismore ferry is tied up, the fish farm workers and fishing boats stay put, dogs get very short walks and everyone battens down the hatches....but never for too long.
